Dr Yvette Maker

Senior Lecturer

Meet Yvette

Yvette’s research is concerned with the disability- and gender-related dimensions of law, policy and practice. Her current projects are focused on the design of accessible information, technology and processes for consumers with cognitive disability, the regulation and design of rights-based disability and mental health services and systems, and the overlap and tensions between feminist and disability rights perspectives on care and support. Her work is community-engaged and has a particular emphasis on developing practical recommendations for changing regulation and practice to support the realisation of the rights of people with disability and mental health consumers.
