About Us

Our Purpose

Our purpose is to create new knowledge that supports people with developmental, intellectual or cognitive disability to live engaged, connected and valued lives. Recognition and protection of the rights of persons with disabilities is integral to all our work. We produce excellent, innovative research that influences policy, effects positive social change, guides decision-making and improves practices throughout the sector and the community.

Our work is collaborative research that actively influences policy and practice to improve the lives of people with disability, in particular, adults with intellectual disability.

Through research and innovation we work with primary healthcare services to improve consumer health outcomes, particularly in the areas affecting the safety and effectiveness of disability health services and systems.

Building on the base of existing evidence we produce excellent, innovative research that influences policy, effects positive social change, guides decision-making and improves practices throughout the sector and the community.
